PartyNextDoor sits down for an interview with Power 98 FM in Charlotte, N.C. and discusses his tour with Jeremih, his collaborations with Rihanna and more.

PND also talks about how his label, October's Very Own, protects him from certain aspects of the industry life. Around the 7:40-mark of the interview, he says, "I would like to say that OVO, me being on OVO, they kinda protect me from the industry, so I'm not around it... I'm not around it unless I choose to be, or unless I ask to be. I wish I had more to say about that, but I'm literally at home making my own music, unless I ask to be in somebody's house writing music for them."

You can watch the clip in full above via YouTube. PND also discusses how he wrote "Work" and "Sex With Me" for Rihanna. Party says that he went over to RiRi's house, and he interviewed her to find out more about her life. RiRi told him a few stories, and PND used the anecdotes as inspiration for the songs.

The 23-year-old Ontario native also says that it's easier for him to write for other people, because he can use his imagination more. When he's writing for himself, he says he feels an obligation to always tell the truth in his music. However, PND says he prefers writing for himself, because he likes the challenge.

PND and Jeremih are still on their Summer's Over Tour. The tour has many remaining shows, including stops in Washington DC, Boston, Philadelphia, New York, Toronto, Detroit, Chicago, Houston and Los Angeles. The tour will wrap up on Dec. 11 in San Francisco, Calif. In case you missed it, go back and check out PND's latest body of work, P3.
