Update: Lil Yachty responds to critics on Twitter commenting on his remark that The Notorious B.I.G. is overrated and gets into it with DJ Akademiks over the matter.

Original Story:

Lil Yachty and The Good Perry sit down with Pitchfork to rate random things including Tom Hanks, "50 Shade of Grey" and fake IDs. When asked if The Notorious B.I.G. is overrated or underrated, Lil Boat says overrated.

The 2016 XXL Freshman simply calls Biggie "overrated" without elaborating. Then, The Good Perry says, "I don't know. I've never... I'm not gonna say I've never heard his stuff in movies and stuff. I grew up very sheltered." You can view the clip in full above via YouTube. Throughout the interview, they also say that fake IDs and taxes are overrated. Meanwhile, they decide that pirating, "50 Shades of Grey" and Tom Hanks are underrated.

Yachty is only 19 years old, so it's not surprising that he isn't a huge Biggie fan. In late August, he said he couldn't name five Biggie or Tupac Shakur songs. Of course, we've known for a while that the "1 Night" artist doesn't like "golden age" or old school hip-hop. It all started with Lil Yachty’s visit to Hot 97 this past June. The rapper appeared on Ebro in the Morning and wasn’t shy about his detachment from lyrics and his indifference when it comes to freestyling. The radio station burned Yachty for not being able to spit bars, and as a result, the Atlanta rapper made a song called "For Hot 97" on his mixtape Summer Songs 2.

Check out the full rundown, which includes Yachty trading shots with Ebro, Anderson .Paak and Pete Rock on social media. Regardless of anyone's opinion, Yachty is still doing his thing out here. Recently, he teamed up with Nautica and Urban Outfitters for a clothing partnership.
