E-40 is dropping his new double LP The D-Boy Diary Books 1 and 2 later this week. With the release date just a few days away, the Bay Area legend ramps up the promo with a new video for one of the album cuts. The veteran MC brings B-Legit and Jazze Pha together for the collaboration "Savage." The track is vintage E-40 as he shines with his quick flow.

"I'm a savage about my cabbage/All my life I been mannish/Establish practice what you preach/A barbarian, I'm a beast/Know how to maneuver in these streets/How to wiggle, get to the Gouda/Straight shooter, I'm super solid from the rooter to the tooter," E-40 raps.

E-40 is defying conventional wisdom with his continued success as he ages. This year alone has seen him score two Gold records with "Choices (Yup)" and "Function." Brian Shafton, who has served as a consultant for E-40 and Sick Wid It Records since 2004, spoke about the impressive nature of E-40's accomplishments.

"Going Gold as an indie artist is a major feat,” Shafton said. “Not only does the artist have to deliver a hit record, but he also must market his material with an indie budget. It doesn’t happen often in this era. Some may even call such an accomplishment a fluke but when it happens to the same artist twice in a year, it is a major achievement. The industry is officially on notice with this tremendous movement.”

E-40 will look to add to his Gold plaques with the release of his new double LP. The D-Boy Diary Books 1 and 2 drops this Friday (Nov. 18) and can be pre-ordered now on iTunes.
