Former Death Row singer Michel'le is getting her own Lifetime movie, Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel’le, slated to premiere on Oct. 15 at 8 p.m. EST.

The one-minute trailer, which you can see above, gives some good insight into what the movie will be about. At the start of the clip, Michel'le introduces herself to NWA, and she initially gets clowned for her high-pitched, Minnie Mouse-like voice. However, she then blows away Dre, Eazy-E and Ice Cube with her amazing pipes. Of course, Michel'le ended up dating Dr. Dre.

But drama quickly arises, as Michel'le learns that the music industry isn't all fun and games. And when Suge Knight is involved, there's sure to be some high-intensity situations. The most striking part of the trailer occurs when Dr. Dre seemingly chokes Michel'le.

Before the singer and Dr. Dre broke up, she was allegedly subject to horrible physical abuse at the legendary producer’s hand. In an interview with Vlad TV, she admitted that she hasn’t yet seen Straight Outta Compton, the N.W.A. biopic from which her story has been excised. When asked to speculate as to why no character was based on her, her answer was disarming: “I was just a quiet girlfriend who got beat up and told to sit down and shut up.” She added that her storyline “has no value” to the kind of myth-making one might expect when a member of the group is one of the film’s executive producers.

So, it'll be interesting, to say the least, to hear her side of the story in the new Lifetime film. You can view the trailer for Surviving Compton above via YouTube, and drop a comment to let us know what you think.
