For an artist that is still relatively new to the game, Tory Lanez certainly knows how to make an impact. Making his late night television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night (Jan. 28), Lanez brought a few special guests to join him on the stage.

While belting out his buzzing single "Say It," Lanez had Brownstone, a '90s group whose "If You Love Me" is sampled on "Say It," providing the backup vocals. It was the first time the trio performed together in 20 years and they thanked Lanez for his vision on social media. The Chixtape 3 artist reciprocated the love by saying that he was "honored" to share the stage with the group.

"The Brownstone reunion happened live on Jimmy Kimmel with me tonight," he tweeted. "They haven't sang together in 20 years #HONORED."

The Toronto native spoke with XXL about his troubles as a teenager and how he overcame the odds to make it to the BIllboard chart and late night TV. “I ended up moving downtown with these three dudes that I didn’t really know,” he said. ”I came into the house and I didn’t realize how things worked. From like 15-18, I was just fighting them. I fought like every day and these were like older dudes. It was every man for himself. That’s what made me a man, having to fend for myself and being in a situation where there is no dad, no grandma and no mom to help you. It changed the person that I am today.”
