2016 marks the 20th anniversary of Lil' Kim's breakthrough album Hard Core and the Queen Bee plans to bring her career full circle with a new album next year. At Hot 97's "Hot For The Holidays" concert, Kim sat down with Nessa and Peter Rosenberg and confirmed that she has been in the studio and insinuated that the project will be affiliated with her original record label, though it's not clear if that means Bad Boy or Atlantic.

"I'm working on a new album for next year," she said. "I put up a post not too long ago, I was at my old record label. So maybe...hint, hint...I've got a couple tours I'm going to be a part of. So stay tuned."

Over the summer, Kim found herself in the headlines when she filed a lawsuit against her ex-boyfriend, Jeremy Neil a.k.a. Mr. Papers, and accused him of abusing her when the two were together. Neil is the father of their one-year-old daughter Royal and the two were involved in a court custody battle. Neil's publicist Tasha Hilton spoke to Bossip and commented on the custody battle saying, "He's not trying to take custody, he's not trying to take her, he is literally just trying to see her. He's been trying to do it very quietly. She's playing really dirty now with the domestic situation. There has never been any domestic violence."

Later in the summer, Neil posted a photo of him and Royal together and it appears that the two were able to come to some sort of custody agreement. In the interview above, Kim comments on how excited she is to celebrate Christmas and how special her relationship is with her child.
