It would seem that we're in a bear market for high-concept rap videos, but D.R.A.M. went full festival-circuit short film in the clip for "2$." The song, taken from his recent EP GAHDAMN!, is brought to life in a video that traces two dollar bills from bodegas to strip clubs to the pocket of a man being jumped (and when the assailants are disappointed, the grass beside him). The cut should further establish the Virginian as a unique voice in hip-hop, a welcome respite from the ongoing authorship controversy stemming from the similarities between his "Cha Cha" and Drake's massive "Hotline Bling." (The latter was initially released on Apple Music as a "Cha Cha" remix; the qualifier was dropped as the song started climb the charts.) He's also planning to play a homecoming show of sorts on Dec. 19--tickets for the Holidaze concert go on sale Friday (Dec. 4) and will briefly be $2.
