Lately, Lil B has taken a break from the music side of things, taking more of a focus on expressing his academic and political views. Over the past few years, The BasedGod has given lectures at NYU, MIT and UCLA, providing groundbreaking speeches on art, gender, race and a variety of other free-associated topics. The well-spoken Bay native has also been on CNN and MSNBC in the last two months, voicing his thoughts regarding the upcoming 2016 presidential election.

Although the rapper's fans genuinely welcome Lil B's opinions on happenings outside of music, there's indeed a yearning for the rapper to release new music. Back in July, the rapper gave updates on his long-awaited effort, the Thugged Out Pissed Off mixtape, telling fans that the project was on the way. "Thugged out pissed off mixtape coming soon Lil B art is timeless and it comes from truth the wait is worth it, help me thru the pain," he tweeted.

Luckily, XXL caught up with Lil B during the 2015 BET Hip-Hop Awards weekend. The rapper not only told us that he's working profusely on the upcoming tape but he also said he's now solely focused on music.
