We're sure there are a few lucky readers to whom Deniro Farrar's new video will be entirely foreign, but the vast majority can expect to feel pangs of anxiety from the moment they hit play. Maybe you've never ended up with a backpack full of work, calculating the risk-reward of making transactions in empty parking garages. (Maybe you have, in which case the new clip for "Same Ol/So Long" beautifully portrays the mental back-and-forth and the act itself.) But odds are you know the sinking feeling the Charlotte native gets when he catches an eviction notice, then sprints to catch the bus only to miss it, showing up late for work and losing his job. The circumstances snowball to the point where Deniro feels as if he has no other options. Though the North Carolinian has yet to break nationally as a rapper, this set of visuals--taken from his recent EP, Cliff of Death II--makes a strong case for his future as not only a rapper, but an actor as well. His next project, Guilty Until Proven Innocent, is due next month.
