Earlier this week, Joey Bada$$ and Pro Era successfully executed their first ever #STEEZDay in NYC's Central Park. The festival was established in honor of the collective's fallen comrade, Capital STEEZ, taking place on July 7, what would have been his 22nd birthday. The event completely sold-out, packing Central Park’s Rumsey Playfield with over 5,000 concert-goers. A host of performances, surprise guests, and positive vibes reigned supreme throughout the night and luckily, XXL was present, getting it all on film.

Hot 97's Peter Rosenberg was the wrangler of festivities for the night, taking on the role of the host as Joey Bada$$, CJ Fly, Kirk Knight, and the rest of the Pro Era clan evoked the spirit of STEEZ, with the sold-out crowd chanting the fallen rapper's name for the better part of the four hour event. Cam'ron, Raury, Talib Kweli and Mick Jenkins all rolled through, as Ab-Soul, Bodega Bamz, The Underachievers, and Flatbush Zombies additionally took the stage.

Although the festival kicked off with a vicious downpour, soaking the majority of the attendees, it's safe to say that the magic created there was nothing short of epic. Check out what went down behind-the-scenes, as well as at the concert during Pro Era's first annual STEEZ Day festival.
