With over a million views and counting of his introductory viral YouTube video under the heading “Raw: 17-Year-Old Freestyling & Imitating Lil Wayne, Drake, Eminem, & Ludacris! (From Maybach Music Latino)” which was released just two months ago, 17-year-old, Miami-born rapper Vers’ has made his claim to virtual online fame fast. The high-school sophomore has been focused for the past two years on becoming a rap star and has a special knack for being able to imitate some of his favorite MCs such as Lil Wayne, Drake, Ludacris and Eminem. The YouTube video featured a young Vers’ showcasing his talent and had the young rhyme slinger spit over Blood Raw’s “Louie Bag” beat. The clip was never supposed to leave the studio but with a simple upload by a friend, it was only days before Vers’ Young Money, Shady, and DTP imitations became the talk of hip-hop’s viral world.
XXLMag.com caught up with the Maybach Latino affiliated rapper (not signed with Maybach Latino) to get a firsthand look at the young fire-spitter and to get all details behind the video and his imitation abilities. Check out his new mixtape Who Is Vers’ also, with exclusive tracks “No Chorus?”, “Freaky 4 Me” and “Momma (Dedication)”.
