Three times a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday), a new artist is featured on XXLMag.com's The Break. An ideal destination for fans, artists, and industry members, The Break showcases up and coming talent, giving a brief introduction on the artist or group, and highlighting some of their standout music. Each month, industry insiders will team with XXL to rate and comment on the submissions.

For the month of April, rising producer who's crafted joints for Wale and Rick Ross ("600 Benz"), Meek Mill ("Errday"), 50 Cent ("Outlaw"),  Fabolous ("Y'all Don't Hear Me Tho") and more, Cardiak—whom will serve as one of three judges—checked out the section to see what yesterday's talent (Rogelio the Great) had to offer. Check out his comments below.

Rogelio the Great
Overall: L

Rogelio the Great ft. Oochie Whally “Showerhead” (to see more from Rogelio, click here)

Rogelio has a smooth, mellow flow with him. I can tell he puts money and effort into his craft. This shows with the quality of his "Standout" track which I feel would be “Showerhead” ft. Oochie Whally. The track is cool as far as production and the video is crazy. This has all the right elements a single needs minus the content. It shows the style of "The Great" and what he's trying to show us. The song shows his originality and creativity and could get spins. The least appealing song was the "Radio Freestyle" because it was just a freestyle.

I'm just not too sure about his flow outside of this song. Time can prove me wrong but I'd advise to keep up his grind and the rest should fall into place if it's meant to be for him. But, as usual I suggest any artist to keep his grind going and show a little structure in his lyrics but also continue to be himself and sucess is on its way for him.
