Breakout: "Claim To Fame" (Prod. by Big K.R.I.T.)

Also Check: "Close Your Eyes" Feat. Boldy James (Prod. by Big K.R.I.T.)

And: "Step Aside Remix"

Name: D.R.G.

Age: C Dell (28) and Lock (30)

Reppin’: Detroit, MI

Our style and/or skills have been compared to:
C Dell: As a duo our chemistry with each other has been compared to Method Man and Redman. Individually my influences are Cam’ron, 50 Cent, Pac, and Jadakiss.
Lock: My influences are Jay-Z, Biggie, and Eminem. We look at OutKast as the pinnacle of duos with the way they reinvented themselves with each album.

Our standout records and/or moments have been:
C Dell: The first thing that pops in my head is the Hometown Heroes Concert last year when we opened fro Big Sean. That was a crazy experience to see that many people in the crowd with only Detroit artists on the bill. Working with Big K.R.I.T. was something really big from us. It was perfect timing with him really wanting people to know he’s a dope producer.
Lock: SXSW was a great moment for me! To see all different genres of music in one place, and shows going on all day was mind blowing. I was proud to be apart of that, and can’t wait to get back down to Austin next year. As far as records, the “Step Aside” remix really showed us the amount of support our movement was getting from fellow artists from Detroit and around Michigan. Shout to DJ BJ 3525 for breaking us on the radio in Detroit.

We’re gonna change the game by:
Lock: Making it cool to be yourself!!! I personally feel too many people don’t embrace themselves and put up this “image” because of what the world deems to be cool.
C Dell: Originality and content is what we want to be part of legacy. We want to be able to deliver a message that people can relate to. We have songs dealing with overcoming adversity, depression, family, relationship issues, partying, and enjoying life. We want to speak for those people without a voice, and go through the same things as us.

We’d Like to Work With:
Lock: Anthony Hamilton is one the person I really to work with. I think we would make an incredible record!
C Dell: Kendrick Lamar is someone we want to work with. A few others are Vado, Cam’ron, and Trey Songz. But at the end of the day we look forward to working with anyone making dope music.

Our goal in hip-hop is:
Lock: Again, we want people to embrace being themselves. Hopefully people we get that overall message from our music.
C Dell: We want to make great music, respect for the culture of hip hop, put on for the city of Detroit and the people in the struggle in general. Just saw a commercial about Nirvana’s live performance at the Paramount. I would love to be able to have that type of impact as a hip hop act. We have a great chemistry with our production team De Notes (D12 “How Come” and Obie Trice “Cry Now”). So we have a great team behind us to stay on target for that goal.

We’re gonna be the next:
Lock: We’re going to be the first D.R.G….PERIOD!!!
C Dell: I agree with Lock on that one. People will get a chance to really understand where we’re coming from with the release of “All Things Regular”. It’s dropping this fall via DJBooth.net and YouHeardThatNew.com
