New Era has always had a special place for hip hop through their past collaborations with some of the most elite in the genre.

The headwear company which was founded in 1920, is the official on-field cap worn by every Major League Baseball team and has strong ties with other professional sports in the U.S. as well as around the world. New Era is also responsible for some of the greatest collaborations with music artists and clothing brands.

New Era's collaborations with hip hop can be traced all the way back to 1996, when the company partnered up with Spike Lee for a special red New York Yankees fitted. This would eventually open up the doors for hip hop acts such as Wu-Tang Clan, Run DMC, Lil Wayne and more to have their own New Era fitteds.

Just yesterday, UGK representer and legend MC, Bun B announced the release of his upcoming
Bun B x New Era x Astros collaboration that is set to drop today. The Trill MC pays homage to his beloved Astros as well as the Lone Star State with this collection.

With that in mind, we decided to take a look back at some of the best New Era x hip hop collaborations seen in the past.
