Nicki Minaj may have things on lock for female rappers right now, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t other solid femcees out there who make for good listens as well.
Rapsody proves that notion correct on the Jamla Records presentation For Everything. The 14-track free album, which is co-executive produced by 9th Wonder, who signed Rapsody to his label, and features guest appearances from Freeway and Kendrick Lamar, has the North Carolina MC spitting an ample supply of serious bars that are sure to impress.
“Came in the game like Melyssa in Accord/Bet I won’t leave the same, can’t you see me in a Porsche?” Rapsody rhymes with a slick touch on the offering’s opening track “Pace Myself.” “Crush Groove” has the admitted Jay-Z stan lyrically cruising through a soulful sound built by 9th Wonder, while “ABC Guilty” has the deft rapper carving through the alphabet with ease. (Think a toned-down, but thought-out Papoose’s “Alphabetical Slaughter.”)
The bars only become harder and more street on cuts like “Ain’t Worthy” and the Freeway-assisted “A Cold Winter.” “Rock The Bells” has Rapsody doing an admirable job standing mic-to-mic lyrically with Kendrick Lamar, with lines like, “Pull out like two nines and aim it dead at they eyes/and tell them lyrically muthafucka you have met your demise,” and later, “With it, lyrically niggas never touching a sick…le cell, hard to pass me I’m too cold, they ain’t well.”
Although listeners may crave to hear Rapsody spit on a wider range of beat selection and do a better job crafting songs, overall this project is more than enough to grab listeners’ ears and keep them for checking for her, especially for fans who are hungry for lyrics. Rapsody has plenty. —Mark Lelinwalla

I think it was ALL XXL. Rapsody GOT IT!
I think that’s all right, it was all XXL
I like it
Not a fan of hers. Those lines they quoted are honestly wack (I want to drive a sports car, I’ll kill you with my lyrics and I’m sick lyrically like a cold? How many times have we heard all of those, not to mention how many times sickle cell references alone have been dropped). Not to mention her grating lisp on most S’s. Duno what 9th was thinking.
Nate/ rhymes with Hate
extra extra is the only song by her i can enjoy
sista got flow nough said and to all the haters what album you drop recently
got me hooked on her XXL
Rapsody has one of the illest flows ive heard in a long time. Her style definitely brings that “Feeling” Back! For Everything is a dope project following her previous tape, Thank H.E.R now and it makes me amped to think of a future official album. Cant wait.
She is definitely dope i just finished my review on her project. Her song writing needs to be structured a little bit better, hopefully that comes with time. Other than that i think she is definitely a good listen.
da last mixer she had was doper IMO…
but still checking 4 her music regardless…XXL should have working links to these mixtapes…4 really real
