The Break Presents: SBOE (Slow Bucks Over Everything)

SBOE is recently coming off a huge deal with Epic Records and they are set to call 2014 their own. The Queens-based collective/clothing brand swung by the XXL offices to fill us in on why the movement is definitely real. Slow Bucks Over Everything. Believe that.

We grew up listening to: Von: I grew up listening to Jay Z, Nas, Mob Deep, Queens guys. Bounce: When I was in high school, I listened to G-Unit, 50 cent that was it, what I could remember, G-Unit and Nas. Bucks: I grew up listening to Nas and Raekwon and N.O.R.E. and Dipset; G-Unit of course. A lot of Queens based music, Wu-Tang, all that good essence.

Most people don’t know We: Bounce: We’re just introducing ourselves now. But they are going to know everything about us very soon.

Our style’s been compared to: Von: We love all our music; we put good effort into everything. Slow (SBOE’s manager): All of them, everybody got there choice. You’re going to have to listen to the tape and tell me. Bounce: You can get that right now on Datpiff.

Our goal in hip-hop is: Von: We need that XXL Freshman cover look. Slow: The hip-hop goal is to get on the cover of XXL Magazine. I mean it’s only right. Everybody I put on the Freshman cover got joints with us or stand amongst us. I’m sure you seen the Epic deal. The proof is in the pudding. We stand amongst the greats and they welcome us with open arms, that don’t usually happen.

We’re gonna be the next: Bucks: The game is so saturated we really want to give back and show like our lifestyle and give the game with what’s really been missing. So we want to give the fans a good package together instead with just coming out and putting out an album and being regular. We really want to stand out from our peers. Slow: We just want to bring that feel back. What SBOE rap about and what’s going on is really our life. I’m sure you hear that a lot of the time but people just don’t give you that feel. If you follow us before on Slowbucks.com you see just by the trailers and short documentaries that we have up there, we’re on our way. We not here just trying to sell it to you, we want you to see what’s going on. Now that we moving onto a bigger scale, we want the world to see it.
