The Break Presents: Jeremy Greene
Standout: “Rain” featuring Pitbull
Also Check Out: “Fireproof”
Name: Jeremy Greene
Reppin’: New England
My style and/or skills have been compared to: Well I’m a singe first, I can rap a little. I am also a writer and music producer, I have hand in producing almost every record I’ve done. I get the Justin Timberlake comparison quite a bit and Chris Brown, but I really just try and do what sounds dope at the time.
My standout records and/or moments have been: I would say my first standout record was with Pitbull on a song called “Rain”, which generated over 65million hits. It made me the number one artist in the world on MySpace, when it was still hot. Second, would be doing SummerJam with Waka Flocka Flame and having the great privilege of being a part of Brick Squad Monopoly/Mizay Entertainment.
I’m gonna change the game by: To keep it real with you, I’m not really sure what I’m going to do, I know what I want to do. See I feel like it’s time for a new Jon B and on top of that I love mixing sounds that are awkward and just crazy. I always say to myself if there were other planets out there on other galaxies with life on them, what would their music sound like and could I keep up? I want to inspire people with music, take them through every emotion, almost like a journey.
I’d Like to Work With: I would like to work with Coldplay, Chris Brown, Usher, Kanye, Jay-Z, Eminem, and believe it or not I would love to do a record with The Beastie Boys, that would be hot!
My goal in hip-hop is: I don’t really have a goal in hip-hop, I have a goal in all music. I never try to put genres in a box, I just do what I feel sounds good.
I’m gonna be the next: Rockstar, and when I say Rockstar I mean timeless! I want to forever do records that accelerate my career world changing music. You know it’s like one of those things when Michael Jackson would walk to the window at this hotel and see a hundred thousand people standing in the street. I want to do music that matters, means something, and makes a difference.
