The Break Presents: Sigidy
Reppin’: Ypsilanti, MI
My style and/or skills have been compared to: Drake and Eminem, but I want to be recognized as one of a kind.
I started rapping: In 2003, freestyling after school, whenever friends would beat on tables, boxes, whatever. I ended up coming across a tape recorder and began recording tapes.
My standout records and/or moments have been: Some stand out records that were on my debut album, The Vanity, include “Dennis Rodman”, “Buzzin’” and “Haters.” Reflecting on memorable moments…the first time freestyling for crowds of people at parties on Western Michigan University’s campus. The people really connected with me and my confidence had always been sky high. In addition to that, the success of The Vanity. Not only did it garner a lot of downloads via my Bandcamp page in the first 24 hours of release, but we were also pushing physical double-disc copies around the city. It was an experience like no other. Witnessing all the positive support it has received and still is receiving is something that I’ll never forget.
I’m gonna change the game by: Fusing together highly entertaining and out-of-the-box lyricism and unique and nostalgic production that is bought to create. Also, by moving up and captivating audiences with a charming personality and smooth charisma.
My goal in hip-hop is: To introduce a slightly new sound in an already growing phenomena of up and coming artists.
I’d like to work with: I’d like to work with Fly.Union, Drake, Kanye West and Eminem.
I’m gonna be the next: I’m gonna be the next artist that came into the industry and made other artists meet their standards of creativity, ingenuity, and passion.
