Show & Prove is our section in the magazine where we highlight which rappers are hot in hip-hop now. Many who have appeared in S&P have gone on to launch success music careers. With the goal to bring our hand-picked selections online, here are excerpts of the stories from Migos, Rich Homie Quan and Iamsu!, as well as their entire mixtape discography. Our October/November issue with TDE on the cover is available on newsstands.

Migos

If repetition really is the father of learning, then Migos have learned a lot this year. Off the strength of a single built around the chanting of one word, "Versace," the Atlanta rap trio has blurred the lines between the balmy clubs of their hometown and the chic boutiques of the fashion world. With some help from Drake, who remixed the track in June, Migos turned an infectious street rap song into an Internet phenomenon. "We wanted to do something other than Gucci, Louis, Prada, the things other artists were talking about," says Quavo, the song's hook-shouter. "We wanted to do something bold."—Dan Jackson

Rich Homie Quan

Dequantes "Rich Homie Quan" Lamar wasn't always the friends with ends. A few years before the bubbling 24-year-old rapper's summer jam "Type Of Way" was the prerequisite party starter, he played baseball at Decatur's Ronald E. McNair High School with pro aspirations. After high school, when that didn't work, he moonlighted with rap and got a job at the airport. When that gig fizzed out, Lamar began jacking other people's stuff. That led to him serving 15 months in jail for burglary, a curse and a blessing. "The situation could have been worse," says Quan. "It really sat me down and opened my eyes."—C. Vernon Coleman II

Iamsu!

The Bay Area seems to be a hotbed for new hip-hop talent as is evident with the recent success of Richmond, CA, native Iamsu!. The 23-year-old rapper/producer has had a big year so far with the release of two mixtapes: $uzy 6 $Peed (2012), a projected backed by his crew, HBK Gang, and Million Dollar Afro (2013), a collabo with L.A. rapper Problem. There's also been Su's guest verse on "Living" off of 2 Chainz's newest album, B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time, his upcoming appearance on Wiz Khalifa's Blacc Hollywood LP and his crew's first tour, the HBK Gang Forever Tour. Things have been moving fast for the rap rookie who believes he is meant for this game. "As soon as I found out that I liked [being a rapper]," he says, "It was never a doubt in my mind that this was what I wanted to do."—Eric Diep
