Out of nowhere, A$AP Rocky returns with "Sundress," a Tame Impala-sampling new song that's accompanied by a hazy video.

For the first verse of the track, which is co-produced by Danger Mouse and Rocky himself, the A$AP Mob spitter casts aside his usual rap flows for some soft-crooning. If you liked Rocky's cover of Otis Redding's "Sittin' On," you'll definitely like this.

The track features a throwback, psychedelic aesthetic that interpolates Tame Impala's 2010 track “Why Won’t You Make Up Your Mind?” The video for the track, which flashes between shots of Rocky and others standing mid-motion at a party, was directed by Frank Lebon.

On the song itself Rocky gets smooth and romantic. "You took some time away from/me (Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh) (Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)/I see you made your mind (Ooh, ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)/Just read the signs, it’s clear to see (Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)/(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)..I'm tryna make you mine (Ooh, ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)," he sings on the track.

"Sundress" marks Rocky's first new music release since he dropped off his Testing album in the spring. Like tracks on that LP, the new track finds the rapper getting out the place folks would've called his comfort zone back in 2015. Here's to experimentation.
