Trae Tha Truth is just two days away from dropping off his anticipated Hometown Hero album on March 16, and we're getting another taste of what we can expect. After unveiling the official tracklist last week (March 6), the Houston native delivers his "Don't Know Me" record with Young Thug off of the project.

Trae, who is also now going by King Truth, teams up with the ATLien over the hard-hitting Moxii-produced instrumental, which also features a familiar sample from singer Avant's "Read Your Mind" hit song from 2003. The new song dives into the two rap stars' humble beginnings, but assuring doubters that they won't have the last laugh.

"Started from the bottom of the clock, now I'm at the top of the globe/You don't know me, like you don't know me," Thugger croons on the hook.

Trae laces his verses with a haunting whisper tone, which brings up an intimidating energy for those that have crossed him before.

"Thought you was down for me, but that's false/what you niggas done to me is gon' cost," he spits. "Tell a nigga 'fuck respect' cause that's lost/Can't overlook shit, some shit you don't cross."

Trae Tha Truth told XXL he chose Young Thug for the track because of the "feel and melodic soul."

“I felt that we could get in our zone and it’s a different type of record than what people would expect us to do together," Trae said.

Hometown Hero pays homage to the city of Houston, which Trae Tha Truth has been working hard to help rebuild following the extreme damages caused by Hurricane Harvey last year. The album officially drops this Friday (March 16) and includes features from T.I., Mozzy, Boosie Badazz and more.
