SZA's platinum-selling single, "The Weekend," now gets a new male perspective thanks to Wale's remix of the track.

On Thursday (Jan. 11), the MMG rapper shared his version of the hit song, adding his poetry-esque flow to "The Weekend." Borrowing many of the same themes SZA sings about, Wale raps, "Look, I'm sorry we got us a lil' problem/Monogamy not for the weak hearted."

Later in the song, Wale takes a deep look at himself, spitting, "Maybe cheaters is sociopaths/Maybe we be cheatin', we ain't heal from a ho in the past/Or maybe I'm a ho and I can show you this hole in my heart/I eat your liquid gold and go home to Golden Corral, you don't know."

In July, following the release of Shine, Wale told fans he would be taking a hiatus for a while. In a photo posted on Instagram, the D.C. rapper wrote, "Man idk what I'm doin but I know I need to make changes. Find my happiness, could this be phase one? I'll be leaving you guys for a while.. my friend @issarae says it's time to change up."

While it's uncertain what kind of break Wale took, the rapper has recently reappeared on new songs from Statik Selektah's 8 album and N.E.R.D's No One Ever Really Dies. Wale is also back in the studio working on new music, telling Billboard, "I'm back."
