It's been over a year since the drama between PartyNextDoor and rumored former girlfriend Kehlani played out over social media. Now, it seems the Canadian crooner is ready to give his side of the story on his latest song, "Own Up to Your Shit."

Produced by Cassius Jay, PartyNextDoor opens up the song by claiming to take the high road. "I'ma keep you in my prayers/Even though you're still talkin' down on me," he sings. "I'ma keep you in my prayers/Even though you still out there tryna done me off/I'ma keep you in my prayers, I hurt/Hope that God saves you."

Whild PND doesn't name any names on "Own Up to Your Shit," it's obvious the singer is addressing someone. "You wrong for this," he sings. "Everybody knows that I've been honest/Move on from it, it's too obvious/Worked too hard to make me the bad guy/And I worked too hard for me to keep sacrificin', my silence/You gotta quit and break down baby girl/And just quit lyin'/Stop complainin', quit complainin'."

After ending their alleged relationship in 2015, the singers appeared to have reunited in 2016 when PND posted a photo of the two in bed together. The picture caused a controversy online as many fans began to assume Kehlani had cheated on her then-boyfriend Boston Celtics player Kyrie Irving.

The following day, it appeared Kehlani attempted suicide after she uploaded a photo of herself in the hospital with an IV hooked up to her arm, captioning, "Today I wanted to leave this earth."

For his part, PartyNextDoor regretted how the drama unfolded, but said there were a lot of details people didn't know about. "I regret how it went down," he told Rolling Stone. "Big time I regret how it went down. I look into people's eyes and I know they think I'm a bad guy. There's a lot of details that people don't know."
