Kevin Gates and Lil E Join Dbo for New Song “Solid”

Indianapolis native Dbo, real name Devan Dumes, is a former Indiana University basketball player who's becoming a name in the Midwest. Over the past few years, Dumas has been involved in several serious cases. Back in 2013, he was charged with attempted murder and attempted carjacking and was later found not guilty. He was recently involved in a shootout between with a local rival rapper.

With his legal situation now behind him, Dbo releases his latest project, Deliberation, a 20-song LP that features guest appearances from Scarface, Lil E, Bun B and Kevin Gates. The standout off the project is "Solid" featuring Gates and E. The track shows off Dbo's versatility, as he raps and sings on the record.

"I first discovered hip-hop when I was 17," he says through email. "My brother out of nowhere bought a studio and I found myself alone in it one day and just tried it and it's been my life ever since. The inspiration for my latest project comes from real life experiences in 2013. I went to trial on an attempted murder case and made it out a free man and decided to share all that I went through in this situation with my fans."
