Earlier today (Aug. 14), fans were blessed with a new track from XXXTentacion, as he dropped "Ok Shorty!" and now they're getting a double dose of new tunes. The 2017 XXL Freshman releases his short new song "In the End," which sees him taking on a somber tone for the soft melodic record.

The "Look At Me!" rapper's new song focuses on a melancholy piano backing before we hear X come in with some gentle vocals that tap into his experimental side. While fans might be used to hearing the entertainer get rowdy in his music, "In the End" hears him toning down his energy, keeping the spotlight on his vocal abilities. The song is only a minute-and-a-half long, making it more of an interlude rather than a full track.

Although X previously told his supporters he would be disappearing for awhile as he gears up for the release of his 17 album later this month, he has still been remaining in the limelight regardless. Just this past week, the rapper was brought out on stage by D.R.A.M. as a surprise guest during Kendrick Lamar's DAMN. Tour stop in Los Angeles.

X's new album contains eight new tracks, with one single guest feature from Trippie Redd. It is slated to drop on Aug. 25.

Take a listen to the short new tune from XXXTentacion below to hear him tap into his somber side.
