DJ Premier Shares Rare Mobb Deep Song “Cop Hell”

As the hip-hop community continues to grieve over Prodigy’s tragic death on Tuesday morning (June 20), DJ Premier dug into his stash and uncovered a rare Mobb Deep record titled "Cop Hell." A super young Havoc and Prodigy can be heard rapping about their hate for the police.

"I'm sendin' cops to cop hell (yeah) with gasoline draws/Fuck ya boots and ya bullshit thoughts/I couldn't give a fuck about ya petty annie/I'm a vigilante who stalk every nigga granny/I'ma put all the cops will they take what I got/But when they try, they gonna get bucked in the motherfucking head," raps Havoc.

"Cop Hell" was originally released in 1992 as the B-side to Gang Starr’s “Doe In Advance” and was going to be on Mobb Deep’s 1993 debut album Juvenile Hell. But the record was pulled by the duo's label at the time, 4th & B'way, because of the controversy surrounding Ice-T's song "Cop Killer."

Just recently, Havoc spoke for the first time about his partner's untimely passing, saying he thought it was a weird rumor at first. “Yesterday, the day of my little son’s graduation, somebody called me saying that somebody told them they heard a weird rumor—and this is at 11’o’clock in the morning—they heard that P passed away in a Las Vegas hospital,” Hav recalled.
