Last year, DJ Shadow released his first album in six years through Nas' Mass Appeal Records imprint. The two continue their working relationship in 2017 by dropping a new collaboration titled "Systematic," the lead single from the Silicon Valley soundtrack.

Shadow crafts an upbeat instrumental for Nas, who spits rhymes with the deftness and precision.

"I wish I was a arms dealer to sell illegal arms in the hood/No backup check, put cash in my palms and we good/Lack of respect, get you to fall where you stood/Mathematics is God language, it’s in my blood/Art music, letters and numbers/I'm a vessel, I'm humble/Meeting start-ups, I invest if I want to/Transforming global market with all of my partners/Methodical corporate culture straight out the projects/That's the ingredients to the realest/Place two cups of cranberry in the skillet/A half a cup of water and some Henny/Let it come for eight minutes, but you ain't finished/Let it sit to the cranberry, pop a little/Keep staring, sipping is art like Keith Haring/It gets in your blood, you start to feel what I'm feeling/Don't listen, just try to feel what I'm feeling," Nas raps on the second verse.

The new track is a nice treat for fans who are patiently waiting for Nas' new album. The veteran MC recently said the LP will drop later this year. The world may get another update on the project when Nas takes the stage at the 2017 Cannabis Cup this weekend.
