Mozzy has been putting in a lot of work ever since he broke out in 2015, with his “Bladadah” single and album of the same name. Now the Sacramento native makes his case to be part of the 2017 XXL Freshman class on his new record "Dear XXL," which is produced by Dave-O, Jay Nari and MMMondaBeat.

"Dear XXL, you know I had to vote for myself/The one that's causing all the ruckus in hell/Drop a hundred in shells/Niggas ain't got stories to tell/We made it here without a sponsor or deal/Do acknowledge I'm ill/Who can function with a fella for real?/Line him up and watch his noodles get spilled/We ain't new to this here/Independent clearing tickets this year/Shooter ridin' shotgun, hook a bitch in her ear/Yeah, I see progression when I look at the mirror/Look at your magazine and all of your freshmen is queer/Cypher was dry as fuck, that ain't something you hear/And the politics make it unfair," he raps.

The case for Mozzy is strong. He has worked with YG, G-Eazy, Jadakiss, Dave East and Trae Tha Truth over the last couple of years. In the span of two years, he’s also released at least seven projects.

XXL spoke to him last year in an in-depth interview for The Come Up. He recently released his Fake Famous album this past January and is preparing to drop his long-awaited 1 Up Top Ahk.
