Boldy James Drops Hometown Anthem “Andrew Drummond,” ‘House of Blues’ Mixtape

Boldy James just released his new song “Andre Drummond," paying respect to his hometown of Detroit and the Detroit Pistons' big man.

The track was produced by Go Grizzly and Millz Douglas. Throughout the three and half minute record, Boldy puts on for his home of Detroit and uses NBA player Andre Drummond’s name as a metaphor to replicate how many shooters he has on his squad and the way he posts up in the paint.

“I be ballin’ on them like Andre/When you see me coming through the lane, everybody clear out our way/Welcome to the big leagues, no child’s play/You can still catch me in the trap like I got a out of town play,” Boldy raps. “All that hacking that’s a foul play/Racking up on that guapalay/Stack it like a out of bounds play.”

In 2014, he signed a deal with Mass Appeal following the drop of his project, The Art of Rock Climbing, which released in January of this year. Consisting of seven tracks, the tape gives insight into the rapper's day-to-day lifestyle along with trying to navigate his way through the Motor City.

Last week, the Detroit MC dropped, House of Blues, a nine-track mixtape. Songs such as “Surve," “How to Hustle" and “On My Way Up” have already gained a few thousand plays in a matter of five days. House of Blues reflects Boldy's time spent in the streets with a little mix of some soft melodies and vivid stories of his come up.

He recently did an interview with his label Mass Appeal to describe what it’s like being signed to a label and working with Nas. “It was a no brainer,” Boldy said. “I’ve always wanted to work with a CEO.”
