Kari Faux and Matt Martians Take a Trip in Time on “Can’t Spend The Night”

Kari Faux and The Internet's Matt Martians team up for "Can't Spend The Night," a smooth, disco-inspired single. The message is clear: they are down for a Netflix and Chill session but when the night comes you have to go home. “And you seem cool/ But you can’t spend the night/ It’s not up to you/ Don’t get it confused/ Cuz I’m feeling you/ But I’d rather be alone/ Now you gotta go home,” they sing on the hook. The breakout MC from Little Rock, Ark. released her excellent debut album Lost En Los Angeles early this spring. The project was inspired by her move out west after dropping “No Small Talk” and garnering the attention of Childish Gambino.

“During the creation of this album I was living in Los Angeles and being introduced to tons of new music and sounds,” said Kari Faux. “My producer, Black Party, and myself took our influence from those sounds and used live instruments to interpret them into something fun and new. We just had fun and made music we would want to listen to.”
