After a hiatus to focus on other ventures, Nick Cannon has been back focusing on music recently, with a new mixtape titled The Gospel of Ike Turn Up: My Side of the Story waiting in the wing. The Wildin' Out boss recently dropped a new track off the upcoming project titled "One Night (Tupac Interlude)."

Cannon pays homage to the late great Tupac Shakur, rapping over a remixed version of 'Pac's "I Get Around" produced by Jahaan Sweet. Nick actually uses all the lyrics from Shakur's hit single. But, instead of straight forward bars, Nick croons through the slow jam.

Cannon has been on a run recently, dropping a handful of tracks in preparation for his new tape. In the last two months, he's put out the songs, "Jessica (Remix) featuring Ty Money, "Holiday Freestyle," "Sex With Me" a flip of the Rihanna track, and the video for "If I Was Your Man" featuring Chili of TLC.

This is Cannon's first mixtape offering in five years, his last being Child of the Corn in 2011. His last LP, White People Party Music, came out in 2014.

The actor turnt rapper hasn't had a hit since his 2003 self-titled debut which contained the R. Kelly assisted single "Gigolo." The song peaked at No. 24 on the Billboard 100 chart and No. 9 on Billboard's Hot Tracks chart.

The Gospel of Ike Turn Up: My Side Of The Story is due out next week.
