The west coast has been producing a ton of new heat with new artists over the past year. One of the MCs that's been around but is prime for a breakout is Buddy. The 23-year-old I Am OTHER signee has been popping up since 2011 and most recently been on singles with Nipsey Hu$$leJevon Doe, Asher RothBJ The Chicago Kid plus Wiz Khalifa and A$AP Rocky's "Way Hi," off Cozy Tapes Vol. 1: Friends.

Today, on Beats 1, hip-hop/R&B tastemaker, Carl Chery, premiered Buddy's brand new single titled "Shine" for #TheCosign and the record is brilliant. "Shine" shows off the Compton native's versatility as an artists, excellent delivery and his impressive songwriting.

"Driving through the fog with my high beams putting on my Visine/Let me tell you just what I seen/Angles falling from the sky/I just hope that they can take me/Back to where the pearly gates be/And I been counting down the days because I know we gotta die soon/That just means I get to fly soon/And I know I'm not the only one out here that's not afraid," he raps.

"Shine" is the first single off Buddy's upcoming album, which will drop during the first quarter of next year. Take some time out and bump "Shine" below.
