SiR knows that love can be complicated. The singer-songwriter explored this on his soulful single "Tricky," which he's revisits for a new music video. The black-and-white visuals does not accentuate SiR's tale, but it does give viewers a glimplse at the studio life.

"Tricky" and the Big K.R.I.T. assisted "Cadillac Dreams" have shown listeners why SiR is more than just a songwriter. The Inglewood's native studio output led to him stepping back in front of the microphone instead of staying behind the scenes.

"As a writer sometimes you’re just writing, creating for the sake of creating and it got to the point where I had a whole bunch of records I loved and they weren’t placed, they weren’t finding homes,” he told Fact Mag. “I thought it’d be best to put them out for people to hear, just to get a response. There were two projects, before Seven Sundays, and I got a great response and nothing but love and support since I started to pursue that path as an artist.”

SiR has a unique advantage due to his experience as an engineer. The singer believes it gives him a level of control other artists lack.

"A lot of people might think they’ll just get an engineer and go into a studio and so on, but that shit costs money," he said. "Engineers ain’t free. It’s better to have everything in your hands. Wouldn’t you want to have control over your situation? That’s putting more control in my pot, it makes it easier for me to get what I want out of music."
