Don't try to get in E-40's way. The Bay Area legend lets everyone know this via his new single "On One" featuring AD.

The track is not be confused with "I'm on One," which appeared on E-40's 2008 album The Ball Street Journal. This new song is set to appear on the veteran MC's upcoming double LP The D-Boy Diary: Books 1 and 2.

E-40's next project is scheduled to arrive in what's already been a successful year for the 48-year-old rapper. The Vallejo native continues to disregard ageism in hip-hop with accomplishments like earning a gold record in "Choices (Yup)."

"What’s happening at this point in my career defies logic. Name another 48-year-old rapper with one gold record, let alone three in the same year,” E-40 said upon receiving his gold record in May. “My fans stretch much further than the Bay Area, further than just the West Coast. I brought so much shit to hip-hop. I’ve been relevant in each generation and each decade and I’ve done it as an independent artist."

E-40's sustained success has allowed him to give back to the community. Just a few months ago, he donated $25,000 worth of backpacks and school supplies to his old middle school.

"I just wanna be an example, an inspiration,” E-40 said at the time. “You know, tell ’em you can make it. I come from Magazine Street right here in Vallejo. I never left. I just always been here. I don’t actually rest my head in Vallejo no more, but I’m here."

E-40's The D-Boy Diary: Books 1 and 2 is scheduled to drop on Nov. 18. A deluxe edition of the album can be pre-ordered right now on iTunes.
