Dave East is back after dropping his Kairi Chanel mixtape a few weeks ago. The 2016 XXL Freshman returns with a new video for "Type of Time" from the aforementioned project. The visual sees Dave East in a variety of New York locales while he deliver his rhymes.

"Prince of my city, what's that about/They heard I could spit, tryna rap it out/They reach out they hands, tryna dap it out/I go in my zone and I'm blacking out/We traveling, we don't just map it out/I got my boarding pass/I just want all the cash/What's better than that?" Dave East raps.

The Kairi Chanel mixtape was an important landmark for Dave East. The project was his first release as a Def Jam Records signee. The Harlem rapper told The Breakfast Club that his record deal will allow him to expand his brand.

"It wasn’t the average me just signing to a major. I’m actually partners with them,” he said. “Mass Appeal is still the family. Nas is still going to be able to executive produce my album. It was a step forward for me. I was with Mass Appeal solely for almost two years. Nas really introduced the world to me. So that was ideal as far as me first coming in. It’s at a time now where a machine really helps what I’m trying to do, especially being from New York and not trying to stay in New York. Like I told y’all before, I’m not trying to be underground or classified as a certain type of dude. I feel like this was a good move to really get what I’m trying to do, my brand, my movement, across the world."
