Nick Cannon is using his fame to give some shine to a talented MC out of Chicago. The rapper and actor enlists the help of his Ncredible Gang cohort ItsAMovie for a remix to Windy City rhymer Ty Money's single "Jessica."

The original version of "Jessica" appeared on Ty Money's Cinco de Money 2 mixtape which dropped back in May. Apparently Nick Cannon and Ty Money became friends during the filming of Spike Lee's movie Chiraq. As a result, the two stayed in touched and this collaboration occurred.

There have been reports that Nick Cannon may have signed Ty Money. These are unconfirmed by XXL at this time, but we will update you on Ty's status as we learn it.

Regardless of Ty Money's label status, hopefully the increased awareness Nick Cannon brings will help Ty earn some new listeners. The Chicago rapper has been putting out some quality music for a few years now.

Nick Cannon grabbed plenty of attention just a few weeks ago when he announced that he was attending Howard University in Washington, D.C.

"YOU KNOW!!!!! #HU2020 My First Day as a Freshman!!! Howard University Class of 2020," Cannon wrote on Instagram.

Nick Cannon's journey to collegiate life is very different from most students. The entertainer graduated from Monte Vista High School in Spring Valley, Calif. in 1998 before embarking on an career in acting. 16 years later, Cannon is enrolled in school and working towards a degree.
