DJ Paul is a do-it-yourself kind of guy. That's why when dope dealers tried to play him, he went out and started slinging his own—and he's got a song to prove it. The Three 6 Mafia vet drops the new banger "Made Me Start (Dope Nicka)" this week (Sept. 27) off his upcoming album Year of the Six Vol. 1.

As described in Paul's Soundcloud bio section, Year of the Six Vol. 1 will boast features from Yelawolf, Jon Connor, Project Pat, Juicy J and "the late, great Lord Infamous"

It was reported earlier this summer that DJ Paul had officially partnered with Yelawolf's Slumerican imprint, so it makes perfect sense that the former XXL Freshman would be joining him on wax for the inaugural release on his label. Yelawolf shared the big news on Instagram back in early August.

“Fortunately for the world of music Paul puts out music constantly … Even more fortunate for SLUMERICAN .. DJ Paul will now be putting his next records out with us !!! .. We’re more than honored to have the 6!!!," wrote the 36-year-old rapper of his newest partner.

Paul also dropped a solo tape called Mafia 4 Life. The Memphis native pulled in features from Jon Connor and Yelawolf again as well as OG Maco and 2016 XXL Freshman Dave East.

DJ Paul's Year of the Six album drops next month on Oct. 28 and is available for pre-order here. Until then, get a preview with "Made Me Start" above.
