Young M.A Releases “Letter to My Ex” for So Gone Challenge

This ain't a challenge to Young M.A, this is real life. The Brooklyn rapper shows a softer side and admits missing her ex while freestyling over Monica's classic "So Gone" beat. This "Letter to My Ex" banger found its way to SoundCloud last week (Aug. 19) and is building steam.

"I miss watching Power with you/I miss taking a shower with you/Sex by the hour with you/I miss taking a pull of the sour with you/Will you let me take it down like the towers with you," raps a lovesick M.A.

M.A was just one of many MCs to take a crack at the So Gone Challenge when it was posed by R&B singer Monica last week. Chance The Rapper, Zoey Dollaz, IAMSU, Rockie Fresh and more all tried their best at freestyling over the soulful Missy Elliott-produced beat. As the rap videos went viral, Monica even uploaded her own freestyle, effectively bodying her very own challenge.

As for Young M.A herself, the New York rapper has enjoyed breakout success this summer with the song "Ooouuu," which was recently remixed by Bronx's own French Montana. She followed up "Ooouuu" with "Summer Story," an upbeat jaunt perfect for chillin' at the barbecue or on the corner. Young M.A. also made mention of her infamous ex in that song as well.

"I'm single now, it's kind of a bummer/Me and my shorty ain't together but forever I love her."

Now, with summer winding down and cuffing season fast approaching, M.A might have to find a new shorty to keep her warm this winter or else fans are bound to get more mushy music from the Brooklyn spitter.
