Lupe Fiasco may finally be gearing up to drop a new LP. After releasing the new track "Pick Up the Phone" last month, Lupe comes through with a music video for the single. Although it shares the same title as Travis Scott and Young Thug's hit, this "Pick Up the Phone" is an original creation.

The music video really enhances the record with its theme of missed connections on the phone. Lupe Fiasco portrays a couple whose lack of communication ends up leading to some disastrous results. The Chicago native pops up throughout the video to deliver his rhymes.

"The make-believers on receivers as you sit back and observe/As the rubber curly cord just absorbs all my words/Will you collect us then connect us or neglect us on the whole/Into the wall then cross the wires on the telephone poles," Lupe Fiasco raps on the final verse.

"Pick Up the Phone" would appear to be a single from one of Lupe Fiasco's next three albums: DROGAS, DROGAS Light or SKULLS. "The Show Goes On" MC previously claimed he would drop all of these LPs in 2016 before retiring. No project has dropped or even had a release date hinted at despite being more than halfway into the year.

The closest thing to an update on DROGAS came earlier this month when Lupe Fiasco mentioned he had it down to 25 songs. The rapper revealed that information while unleashing a prank on members of the KanyeToThe forum.
