The Suicide Squad soundtrack drops tonight, and ahead of its release comes a new song off it from Baton Rouge rapper Kevin Gates. You can hear "Know Better" above.

The song sounds like it easily could have been left off Islah, his outstanding official debut album from earlier this year. The way Gates draws out his vowels on the hook is the best part, and just like so many other deep cuts on Islah, Atlantic may want to go ahead and make this a single, video treatment and all.

Last week Gates appeared in Florida court for his ongoing battery case involving the girl he kicked onstage last year. Though he was trying to claim stand your ground as a defense for the kick, a judge told him that wouldn't be an admissible excuse.

Though he had some criticism for the Black Lives Matter movement recently, Gates showed support for Korryn Gaines, the Baltimore mother slain by police while holding her child.

“Oh my god. I love this lady,” he says after recounting the incident. “I’m going to get this lady’s face tattooed on me. Call her crazy, call her what you want to call her. She stood for something. she died for what she believed in. I love you with all my heart. Niggas call you what they want to to call you, I call you queen. May peace and blessings be upon you in this life and in the hereafter.” In the video’s caption, Gates wrote, “you did what I know my wife would’ve did.”
