De La Soul is gearing up to drop their highly-anticipated, entirely fan-funded And the Anonymous Nobody… album, due out Aug. 26. And to celebrate De La member Posdnous's birthday, the trio drop yet another track from their newest effort. On an LP bursting at the seams with guest features, this new track "Greyhound" boasts a soulful hook from Usher.

In true De La fashion, the verses act as mini stories. The content matter of the song centers around people boarding a Greyhound bus in search of brighter futures and "new zipcodes" in a far off city. But once there, the cityscape that looks so pretty doesn't seem to shine as bright.

"Next stop, NYC/Take your seats please/I know exactly where you're goin', I can see it on your face/I know how to get there/And I give you my word that I get you there safe/I don't need to check your baggage/I don't need to know your name/All I need to know is/By the time you arrive, you'll forever be changed," Usher Man sums up the song on the chorus.

"We were taking a break from recording to drive & get some food. Along the way we passed the Bus station and someone in the car in a tour guide voice said ‘and to the left is the bus station where people come from everywhere to get their piece of Hollywood," explained Pos in a press release about the new tune. "I immediately thought that would be a great song having the entry and departure point of the story be the Greyhound bus. A few weeks later music from the jam sessions presented itself as a perfect fit for that subject birthing the song."

De La's ninth studio album And the Anonymous Nobody… has been over a year in the making. Thanks to a wildly success Kickstarter campaign — the trio raised over $600,000 in 30 days — the album features the likes of Snoop Dogg, Little Dragon, Pete Rock and 2 Chainz. This will be their first LP from the Long Island group since 2004’s The Grind Date.
