Dave East team ups with LoVel to add a little something for the remix of the singer's "Me Too." The original version appeared on LoVel's Backseat Memories EP which dropped last year. The new version sees Dave East adding a verse to the top of the cut, giving new life to his fellow Harlem native's single.

The remix adds to a string of songs Dave East has released as he preps for the Kairi Chanel mixtape. Earlier this month, the Mass Appeal artist unleashed a track called "Nothin Bout Nothin." East has done of great job of capitalizing on his momentum from being in the 2016 XXL Freshman class. He spoke about the honor during one of the roundtable discussions.

"Today has been dope, I ain’t going to front, it’s been long but I’m happy to be a part of it, meeting the artists that’s on [the cover]," East told XXL. "There’s a couple I already knew and even meeting the new ones. A few people music I wasn’t even familiar with but I’ve been hearing it today while we been in here."

Dave East's journey to the Freshman cover was not easy. But the difficult journey helped make him the rapper he is today.

"Spanish Harlem is like every ghetto in America. There's every distraction possible. To make it up out of there is really a task itself," Dave East said at the Freshman cover shoot. A lot of good, a lot of bad... A lot of creativity coming from the east side of Harlem. It really built my character and who I am."
