Quan spoke in a recent interview about getting into music and how his career all began.

"Shit, it probably started with my family," he said. "My uncles, my father, nobody rapped in my house. They’d be into rap, but nobody rapped. My uncle sang, my daddy sang, my whole family loves music. There was always some kind of music playing, like from back then shit. Ever since I was a little boy, back from taking pots and pans and creating my own little drum set. But I didn’t think I was something special until I was about 14 or 15 and people were talking about me. I ended up getting on a radio station, when I was about 15, but I was in the streets too. I was running around robbing people and selling coke. That’s what it was, like that’s what it was early. It was always either the streets or the music, but wanting to do music and get out of streets."
