Harlem rapper Jaquae isn't going to hesitate to throw down on behalf of his kinfolk, and puts all would-be challengers on notice with his new track "Brody."

The hook on the Billionaire Productions goes, "I’ll beat you up for my brody," and the seriousness of the claim should make anyone want to befriend the rhymer.

On the track, Jaquae raps, "You don’t want to play with me/Lay you down for a fee/Niggas always get to barkin’/Barkin’ up the wrong tree."

The rapper explains the story behind how the track came to be. "I always try to create music that will get people out of their seats and on to the dance floor, while staying true to my Harlem roots," he tells XXL. "I love high energy records that work both in the clubs and on the streets."

As for what's next for him, Jaquae says it's nothing but recording and performing. He last dropped the video for his track "My Pieces Hittin" in January and performed at BET's Music Matters showcase in May.

It's been quite the journey for Jaquae, who has spent time in South Carolina and in 2010, hooked up with Fred The Godson to be the rapper's touring hype man. In the time since, he has worked on music with Mack Wilds and Love & Hip Hop New York's Bianca, blending his New York hustle with down South energy.
