A 2 Chainz and Statik Selektah collaboration might not sound good on paper, but it definitely works in practice. The new single "Smoke Break" features 2 Chainz flowing effortlessly over the jazzy Statik Selektah production. And while he might working with a different production style, Tity Boi is still as grandiose as ever with his rhymes

"Should be on cover of the High Times/Walk in my closet, get Sky Miles, trap Einstein/Japanese, all them wontons/Gave her a D like Chaundon, told shorty quiet down/So many acres man, my kids can't trick or treat/Because them neighbors stay on a whole 'nother street/Politics as usual, I bought a suit for it/Puff got a party Friday, I bought a coupe for it/Who you know buy the bottles and don't drink/I sleep, fuck, shower in my gold link/Got Tity Boi tatted on her butt cheeks/If you don't pray for 7 days that make one week," Tity Boi raps on the first verse.

It should come as no surprise that 2 Chainz worked well with a beat like this though. The Atlanta rapper showed he can sound right at home on such production with his track "So We Can Live" off the B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time album.

As for Statik Selektah, it looks like "Smoke Break" could be the first single for a new LP from the veteran producer. The song's release came with the message that an album titled 8 might be on the way. If it drops this year, it will be his second project of 2016 as Statik teamed up with KXNG Crooked for the Statik KXNG album back in February.
