At 21-years-old, Lil Uzi Vert is working like a man possessed and it's starting to pay off. Less than a month after dropping his Lil Uzi Vert vs. The World mixtape, the Philly native has already followed up with enough material to compile another new project.

On his latest drop, "DC," which clocks in at under two minutes, Uzi already begins to reminisce on his career as if he's a seasoned vet instead of a green rook.  "They said I wouldn't make it / Said I couldn't do it," he raps to all the naysayers.

In the end, Uzi confesses that his self-confidence turned his dream into a reality in four short years. "Knew I wanted it when I was like 17 / Turned it right into my reality."

In the end, Uzi lets the beat ride out while adding his own ad-libs.

Since bursting onto the scene, the young MC has made it clear that he doesn't want to be identified as a rapper but as a rockstar. “I never wanted to be no rapper,” he told XXL for our last issue. “One thing rap and rock have in common, a lot of it is focused on negativity. I like dark stuff.”

It should come as no surprise that Uzi relates to rock stars since he grew up listening to hardcore acts like Marilyn Manson and Slipknot. "I’m a real big Marilyn Manson fan. I get a lot of my styles from him," he told us in a separate interview. "Not even musically, living wise too. Marilyn Manson definitely shows me you shouldn’t care what nobody say. I watched a bunch of his interviews and he’s not just an artist, he’s one of the most intelligent people I ever saw in my life. I became a fan when I was a little bit young around 13 or 14-years-old. That’s when I was in my little rockstar phase."
