Do not mess with Ja Rule. One fan found that out the hard way at a show this past weekend. During a performance at Harrah's After Dark in Atlantic City, N.J., the rapper slapped a fan who tossed a beer can at the rapper's head.

TMZ got their hands on some video of the incident which finds Ja Rule in the middle of a set performing his 2004 single "New York." As Ja Rule plays to the crowd, one fan throws a beer can and hits the Queens native in the head. This did not sit well with the "Holla Holla" rapper, who immediately began to search for the culprit. Ja Rule had the DJ cut the music off before questioning the crowd.

"Who threw that?" Ja Rule asked. "Whoever threw it, point 'em out in the crowd if you see 'em."

Ja Rule was determined to find the person who nailed him with beer can as he upped the ante a bit. The Murder Inc. artist offered $1,000 to the person who helped him find the guilty party. This motivated the audience to identify the culprit. When the offender got up to the stage, Ja Rule hauled back and let loose with a slap. This shocked some folks in the audience and the rapper quickly left the stage.

It's been a rough couple of days for Ja Rule as he was recently clowned for thinking that Michael Jordan earned money for every time someone posted a "Jordan Face" meme on the Internet. Social media mocked the MC for believing a post about this on TMZ Comedy, a gag website in the vein of The Onion.
