Los Angeles native KR comes out of the woodwork with a smooth new EP And It Begins. Just in time for springtime loving, KR dropped the 5-track EP last night (March 30), boasting a slew of big name producers. The opening track "My Type" is produced by Dem Jointz, "Complicated", which first dropped earlier this month, is produced by Tim Suby and the entire project was mixed and mastered by Tim Cooper.

For the followup to his 2014 I$0LYF3 3 mixtape, the Los Angeles native went through a rebranding, revamped his social and got down to business. And It Begins serves as a reintroduction of the rapper who brought the Internet bouncy singles like "Play My Shit" this time last year. Though it doesn't include his sporadic single from last fall, "Bout That", And It Begins shows off a more mature, introspective and turned down sound for the buzzing up-and-comer. The vibes are heavy on this one.

"I listen to my fans more than they think sometimes," the 21-year-old said in a press statement regarding the new project. "I saw them asking for a project constantly as of late and it became evident I needed to give them something in some form or another. The production comes from a number of producers that all have tremendous growth of their own."

The last time XXL spoke with KR, the California MC said his goal in hip-hop was to bring hope to people going through trials and tribulations who don't have a voice to express themselves.

"I want to touch all my fans with every lyric, beat, video and performance.”
