Hailing from the Chi, Lil Durk grew up hustling however he could and on a new track produced by C-Sick, he recounts his younger days when used to "break in the crib." "If I Could," is a haunting track that sees Durk list his many hustles, building off the song's title by rapping "sell coke if I could / Sell dope if I could / I rob if I could / I’m getting money cause I could."

Later, Durk juxtaposes his past and present lives, rapping, "I’m still chasing the millions / Daddy gave me the wisdom / 23 years up in prison / I swore I seen his vision / See my son and start tearin' / I took the game, wasn’t given." Released on Tuesday (Mar. 1), the track demonstrates the numerous perils a young inner city man can face, and the proper reflection upon his escape.

Earlier this week, the Durk track "Ain't Did Shit For Me" was leaked and featured the rapper taking shots at his label, Def Jam. On the track, he raps, “They say I’m signed to Def Jam, no I’m not / I’m signed to OTF, they took they spot / Fuck them n*ggas, I hope they rot.” In a statement to XXL though, Durk called the track old and said that all is well with him and the label.

“I’m definitely signed to Def Jam,” he confirmed over the phone. “The song got leaked and it was a freestyle I did a long time ago. At the time I made the song, I was independent.”
