All week, ILoveMakonnen has been dropping new content in preparation for the release of his project Drink More Water 6, and the day has finally arrived for it to drop. The 11 song offering is entirely feature-less, an aspect that the Atlanta rapper celebrates on "Solo." The release is the first from Makonnen since November's ILoveMakonnen 2 EP.

While the rapper is riding high, tearing up the Hollywood streets on a motorcross bike in his "Live For Real" video, there is speculation that Makonnen is perhaps unhappy with his standing within the OVO camp. On "Solo," he raps, "I swear my album better drop this fall” lending some credence to a notion that began in December, when Makonnen said of Drake's label, "It’s cool, they put out my music and stuff and we just keep it moving. Let them tell you their relationship with Makonnen. I’m just an artist, being an artist, and there’s only so much that I can do.”

Those quotes actually lend a bit of subtext to "Solo," as Makonnen told Zane Lowe, who premiered the song on Wednesday (March 16) that it's "about getting out there doing it by yourself... Let everyone out there know you can strike out and do it solo if you’re not getting the support you need.”

Drink More Water 6 is available to stream now via Spotify below and download courtesy of iTunes. Next up for Makonnen may be the OVO crew album he alluded to earlier this month, saying "It exists, but we’ll just see when it comes out.”
